We find on the market many derived products of Goji such as juices, powders, and extracts under any sorts of forms.
If your purpose is to obtain the best Goji that exists, you will opt obviously for Goji which received the least human manipulations. Every time Goji is handled, it loses important properties.
The Goji extract that is mostly sold is the juice, which is marketed by several companies, among which some became particularly popular thanks to a very powerful marketing, based regrettably on many hypocrisies.
Some claim to restore in the juice the same value as a fresh fruit. As we explained it in a previous chapter, even if we composed together all the internal elements of Goji, that would not be equivalent to the real Goji fruit.
Every time we compose two elements, the modern science has the annoying tendency to add qualities. Now, it was established for a very long time that contrary to the quantities, the qualities of a substance do not add up. If you mix together two glasses of water at 30 degrees each, you will not obtain a liquid of 60 degrees. Also, when you mix two different products, you obtain a quite new product with specific properties. The science is filled with examples where, when we mix two different products, we obtain a new one with very particular properties which we do not find in the original elements.
It's the same for the nutrition. When the nature prepares a material, it makes it in a perfect harmony of elements which generally the man would not know how to reproduce so there is a factor to be considered. As the science is far from any knowledge and as billions of dollars are still injected every year for researches, we can easily presume that the scientists are far from being able to guarantee that they know all the properties of mixtures of two ingredients or more. Consequently, the more a recipe contains ingredients, especially chemical ingredients, the more the risk of error or unknown result is raised.
It is very rare to find some totally pure Goji juice without any additive. We almost always add to it diverse fruit juices (most of the time apple, grape or peach), as well as diverse additives, such as sorbate of potassium and some citric acid.
The one who claims to possess the secret recipe to reconstruct the properties of a fruit which was altered by various human manipulations is nothing else than a quack.
You should not forget that the Goji juice underwent several major changes. At first we deprived it of the seeds and we filtered it. These are the elements that contain several very important nutritional properties which are thrown away with impunity, such as proteins and essential acids fats (Omega 3).
Then, the juice will be pasteurized, subjected to a shock treatment (often a high temperature) to kill bacteria. Now, by killing the bad elements, we kill at the same time, numerous good elements, notably several vitamins.
This is how we meet ourselves in the end with a product which has lost numerous important properties.

Is it worth paying up to $65 for a bottle containing a liquid emptied of its nutritional properties? You are the judge.
